"I caught a part of a call into the Jerry Agar show in KC, where the guy was going off on how SELFISH the Shindlers were, since there were so many people that Terri could have been helping, if they would only allow her organs to be donated! She was dead anyway, so her organs should have been used to help "the living."

A patient must be determined to be clinically brain dead before organs can be harvested. Brain death means cessation of all brain activity, including that of the brain stem. There are very specific clinical observations and tests that must be done to verify brain death. Terri's brain stem was unaffected, so she could not be declared clinically brain dead. However, after Felos succeeds with this case, watch for the pro-euthanasia crowd to press for patients diagnosed as PVS to become eligible as organ donors.

MY WIFE AND i HAVE BEEN IN THE MEDICAL FIELD FOR 20 YEARS.
WE BOTH TAKE CARE OF TERMINAL AND CHRONIC PATIENTS. i HAVE SEEN PEOPLE TAKEN OFF RESPIRATORS, DNR'D , AND BE GIVEN HIGH DOSE MORPHINE TO INDUCE DEATH. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE HAVE A GASSTROSTOMY PULLED AND STARVED TO DEATH, AND YET PEOPLE HAVE POSTED THAT THIS IS DONE ALL THE TIME. AM I MISSING SOMETHING? IS THIS COMMON IN SOME STATES OTHER THAN MY OWN?
