When will we see the equivalent of a show like "24" where the total insanity of our culture is put on parade and quotes like Kid Rock's are featured large? South Park is too far out for most. We need a real person show that illuminates the left wing and political correctness that is killing us. It would be like Crichton's book "State of Fear" that is grinding the eco-crazies into fine dust as part of edu-fiction: truth communicated as part of a fictional bit very entertaining story...
"Who else could they blame? The producers of Prozac have the deepest pockets."
God out of the schools. God out of the family. It's all downhill from there.
I am glad you guys are around to bring some well researched sanity into the discussion. You really elevate the discussion.
People who are suicidal use Prozac in the hopes it MIGHT help them. So why are people so surprised when they commit suicide?
Of course this is the first thing everyone thinks of, but who's going to sue? Who's left in this kid's family?
Likewise, I'm delighted that you recognized the sarcasm!
Indeed, declarative statements like that show a great deal of knowledge and research into the subject matter at hand.
George Carlin cornered that market in the 80s and 90s. (His 70s stuff didn't really touch on it enough.) Actually, I'm pretty fond of Henry Rollins' spoken word stuff as well when it comes to scrutinizing the PC culture.
I used a metaphor of a rediculously erronious comparison to show the error of the cause/effect of the subject at hand. It seemed so obvious to me.
I certainly accept that I failed to make my point!
No, the problem was that he should have been on ritalin too. And maybe some valium along with the prozac. </sarcasm>
When in doubt, sue the drug company.
The lawyer planted recorders in the house to play messages in the quiet of night " the prozac did it .....sue"
God forbid the family take responsibility or accept the fact that there was a sociopath in their midst. Oh no, it's the drug company's fault. Can't wait to read about this court case. He'll wind up a millionaire for sure.
Which family member is the survivor damaged by the shooter?
Maybe you ought to research the subject. You might find that this drug, trumpeted as an incredibly powerful antidepressant, is an incredibly powerful psychoactive drug with substantial side effects. I don't have time this Easter Morning to post links to other FR articles on the subject but lets just say a knee jerk reaction (which I would have had before this drug affected my personal life) is not warranted.
There is another side to these stories. This monster in the above article might not be one of them. (Although before he was "treated" with Prozac, he just tried to kill himself - not everyone in his life)
God forbid Eli Lilly clearly publish the side effects of their drugs and not market it to every segment of society. The disclosures of late are just the tip of the iceberg and are the direct result of court action in America and England.
Judging by the picture... I'd guess that the prozac was the least of his problems. His parents ought to do 6 months just for letting their kid dress like that.
