GWB Is The Man! Yes, and I hear old Pontius was actually a very competent civil administrator.

Maybe you guys could help me here. It's my understanding that Congress determines the court's jurisdiction.

Congress sets up the circuits and can take them away as well.

What laws does the President pass in our country?
To: Salvation
The President was taking heat for his failure to express concern over Red Lake earlier this week. Guess someone on his staff corrected the omission.

Congress, with the president's approval--or by veto override--creates all fed courts, except the SC and gives them such jurisdiction as desired. All a court can do is issue an opinion----words on a sheet of paper. The court has no way to enforce an order. Marshalls, etc are part of the EXECUTIVE branch. So a check the pres has on SCOTUS is to refuse to carry out their opinion.
Florida's scheme is similar. Thus, Jeb can order in the state troops or George could bring in the national guard.
This has happened before. Washington sent in the troops to quash the Whiskey Rebellion, Eisenhower for public school deseg and someone, I believe LBJ,troops to Alabama to allow blacks into college. It does however require a Pres or Gov with a backbone.

What laws does the President pass in our country? Whatever Congress hands him that he signs into law. He can only pass Executive Orders for the Federal Branch.

Psalm 91
"Soldier's Prayer" He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked If you make the Most High your dwelling - even the Lord, who is my refuge then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. you will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

I have to side with the Indians on this one. Why did it take so damn long for Bush to comment on the massacre? He seems to have become totally tone-deaf. First with his "vigilante" comment, and now this.
To: blackie
Save your hatred for someone who cares. No hatred intended or implied. Just deep disappointment in someone I voted for twice.
