Your friend had a terminal disease & was dying. The body was ready to die. Terri was otherwise a healthy, functioning human being - it's like taking any one of us & putting us in a guarded room with orders for no food or water. We would cling to life as long as we could too, because WE WANT TO LIVE.
Thank you for making that distinction. Terri is not terminally ill - she is living with a disability. There is a huge difference.
