I wish someone could sneak in some kind of recording device. Those who wish this should not be spared the sight.

I'd "go KGB" on this where I can try to go in "wired" or smuggle in a small tape deck, digital camera or even a small video camera. I keep thinking back to 1959 when Khruschev came to America where his KGB agents had a minature still camera in the buttons of their trenchcoats and so on. I know there are electronics store that sell stuff like this. Better yet, get a minature bug that broadcasts in the FM band and plant it somewhere, sit somewhere outside the hospice with a "ghetto blaster," shove in a cassette tape and hit record. Now it is too late but somewhere between then and now, this idea would have crossed my mind. There are bugs out there that are the size of sugar cubes or even smaller, no one would know. Man, sometimes I wish I did take the U.S. Army's offer to work in military intellegence against the Soviets back in 1984/85 when I was senior in high school. B-)
