TAMPA, Fla. In what may prove to be Terri Schiavo's parents' "final shot," their attorney was trying to persuade a judge Friday that the severely brain-damaged woman had expressed her will to live.
According to an emergency motion filed late Friday afternoon, attorney Barbara Weller said that during a hospice visit on March 18, she asked Schiavo pointedly what her wishes were. Weller directed Schiavo to say the words, "I want to live."

I hope this convinces the judge, but he may rule that Terri was being coached. And there's the problem...this entire scam is based on 2 facts - that this was Terri's wish and that she is in a PVS. OK so if she was being coached and this really is her wish, but then we have that durned PVS diagnosis when she can talk.....hmmmmmmmm.

Greer had something akin to the power of God.There's a lot of money to be made off dead people in the state of Florida. The elderly flock there. Hospice found a gold mine!

I am not defending Greer or his decision. All I am saying is that, during the trial when it was PUOSU time, none of all this great evidence was presented. Nurses are coming out of the woodwork, Nuerologists are coming forward volunteering their big brains on the subject. I am just doubtful of some of their intentions because I see when they arrived. When the lights went on and the cameras started rolling. Hannity asked one of the nurses about this. Why now??? Well, evidently when they first went to trial (hearing, whatever it's called) in 2000 (or whenever it was), they didn't know they NEEDED to come forward about it. Then they TRIED to come forward in 2003, but they were issued a gag order, and it has just recently been lifted. So they HAVEN'T BEEN ALLOWED to tell their story until now.

Some lawyer on the radio said today that in this type of case you'd better have or show all of the evidence in your first trial because they don't look at any new evidence after that.
I guess Greer decided to listen now. Not that anything on this earth could change his mind. He seems determined to kill Terri.

That's exactly what happened here. Judge Greer in the first case has been the ONLY ONE to see any of the evidence. And they didn't have nearly as much then as they do now, since nurses, etc. didn't know they NEEDED to come forward. But ever since that first ruling, the other judges have just assumed that that first ruling was correct and based THEIR rulings on that (incorrect) fact.

I'm a reformed democrat who changed parties after Clinton led it into the gutter.I wouldn't say that I'm a right wing conservative but on some issues like the border and immigration I am.The republican party knows it has us over a barrel right now because the democratic party is not fit to run a garbage truck never mind the country. My loyalties are to my beliefs and if the republican party goes against my beliefs I'm going to let them know.I wish more people would speak out on issues like the border instead of putting party loyalty first.

A few days ago this guy told the same story on FOX News. He said Terri said "Ahh waaa ...", meaning "I want to live." The interviewer asked, "How do you know she was not trying to say 'Ahh waaa to die'"?

I sincerely hope that you are right but in my lifetime of over a half century, I would say that the prevalence of Socialism in the world has grown. America is still a relatively young nation but we have very perceptively moved left during my lifetime. You are correct that leftism is socially and morally repulsive but people and governments, like water, seek the path of least resistance. The lower expectations for leadership and culture offered by leftism is like a water slide for a lazy society.

The interviewer asked, "How do you know she was not trying to say 'Ahh waaa to die'"? It wouldn't matter since even if she WERE saying "Ahh waaa to die," that means that she's not in a PVS, which is what this whole sham hinges on.

I am a Christian. I have no other worldly refuge other than the Republican Party no matter what they call me or fear me.

They just played the audio of the discussion the attorney had with Greer today on Greta's show, did you catch it?
To: luv2ski
They have awakened us. And we are angry. Terry lived for her parents I believe. This is all too sad. What else but love and the feeding tube could have caused her to hold on this long. Her supposed husband with held basic health care from her.
This last hearing will be the one that the judge can't ignore I pray.
Lord give Terry a Miracle and sustain her.

If I were her husband, and her insane and unscupulous and utterly delusional parents wanted to turn my wife into a pity corpse to confirm their desperate faith that she is still in there, then I would absolutely refuse them.Yeah, okay..............and Michael Schiavo is lying in another woman's arms lamenting Terri's plight right about now. Uh-huh.
I guarantee you his concerns are for himself, and nobody else.
To: antoninartaud
She died years ago, now she is a brain stem and a digestive system. If I were her husband, and her insane and unscrupulous and utterly delusional parents wanted to turn my wife into a pity corpse to confirm their desperate faith that she is still in there, then I would absolutely refuse them. No question. And I would tell the rest of the fanatics to get stuffed. And I darn well expect my wife to do the same. Lolling around moaning while my crazy parents talk to my empty shell, and parade me for praying onlookers and videotaping me when my moans sound like words, never in a million years. Yes, some things are worse that mere death.
Wow - with your compassion I'm sure your wife would be all too happy to "put you down" when the time comes.
This isn't about you, this is about Terri. Just because you don't like her "appearance" she needs to be killed?? I really feel sorry for your wife.
To: antoninartaud
Your 'hero' husband doesn't have much to say to the public on this matter. Maybe he and his new squeeze should have a joint teleconference airing their concerns.
Nah, pawns in another right to death lobbying movement...........just like 'Jane Roe". He's so passionate that he can't bring himself to speak about it. Give me a break about the 'devoted' husband wanting to give his beloved wife the release of death.
To: lakey
One problem with having an inarticulate man as president - even if he might have conservative instincts, he is incapable of articulating them in a way that can counter the blaring of the liberal media.
In contrast, unlike Bush, Reagan had the ability to speak from the heart in ways that made people tune out what the media was saying. Defending Terri's right to life would be a great opportunity for someone with courage and rhetorical gifts. Bush doesn't have much of either.
