Yeah, I was watching the helicopters from my apartment on Tuesday. And on Monday, there was a bomb scare at the Middlesex County Courthouse that had half the downtown area shut down (it would seem that someone didn't want his/her day in court!). I think it's time to move!

It wasn't a hoax. The kids were all brothers and sisters. The father came home, it was through his efforts that the kids came out. The girl was pregnant however. Not much news on that one since. Sounded like a real bad family squabble, along with drugs. The landloard of the house is an attorney whose office is right next door.

Amber Alert issued for Cedar Rapids girl issued; police suspect sex offender

Law enforcement officials were searching early today for a 10-year-old Cedar Rapids girl who was abducted from her home — apparently by a man on Iowa's sex offender registry.

A statewide Amber Alert was issued late Thursday after Jetseta Marrie Gage was taken from her mother's house by Roger P. Bentley, described by police as a family acquaintance.

Iowa's sex offender registry lists Bentley as having a 1994 conviction in Benton County for lascivious acts with a child.

Bentley took the child about 8:15 p.m. and left in a pickup truck, according to police reports and Amber Alert information.

Police don't have a lot to go on because most of the information is coming from the girl's 7-year-old brother, said Cedar Rapids police Lt. Kelly Fitzpatrick

"The grandmother and children were there. The grandmother was looking out for them and that the acquaintance took the 10-year-old without permission," Fitzpatrick said Friday.

Police don't know why Bentley took the child or where they may be headed, he said.

"Believe me, we've been hitting a lot of leads to try and find her," Fitzpatrick said.

He said investigators were still trying to determine how Bentley took the child.

The grandmother was in the house "but not there to prevent the 10-year-old from disappearing, no," he said.

The child is white, 4-feet-6-inches tall and 90 pounds. She has brown, wavy, shoulder-length hair and brown eyes. She was wearing an orange coat and purple pants.

Bentley is white, 6-feet 1-inches tall and 265 pounds, with blond hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo on his right shoulder. He was wearing a flannel shirt.

The pickup truck is a black and silver 1982 Datsun king cab with a silver topper with Iowa license 392MIZ.

Just commenting on what is a odd choice for a name. Don't fault her at all. But, damn, what were her parents smoking??

Well, George Greer didn't DO it, but he certainly got the word out that the court in this country does not value the life of the disabled. And I do think that ideas have consequences. We'll probably never know whether the person who is responsible for this child's disappearance got that message from Greer or not.

Pope John Paul II, and Terri Schiavo.

The target of the strongest fight is the most holy of the land - our dear, loving, Holy Father, Pope John Paul II. Our strongest and most constant prayers are needed not for ourselves but for all of God’s strength and all of God's blessings be directed to him so that he can avenge the enemy who is longing to celebrate his demise. Without the presence and guidance of this holiest of men, evil will burst into an even more frightening rampage. There will be fights among even the holy men in the Vatican for power. There will truly be a turmoil in the Church, and gleeful laughter from the darkest souls and immoral spirits who will celebrate the world's loss of God's most powerful representative.

*************Terri Schiavo is caught in this battle because she is an easy earthly target and through her husband, whose soul has become one with the demon, evil has created a worldwide conflict that has caused an extreme chiasm between people of faith and non-faithful alike. When Terri passes those who will be the most sorrowful will be weak and be easily swayed to disbelieve in and question God's power and goodness. There will be many who will turn against God if Terri is not saved; and there will be the non-believers who will gleefully point at what they claim is a fallacy: that God is all powerful. They will stand ready to collect newly fallen souls into their ranks. We cannot fall prey to their temptations to go astray, to become violent, bitter or resort to unlawful acts.

Terri's fight is a prime, planned event of the devil's most devious, deceitful, design. It is not a coincidence that these two people are suffering together while the whole world watches. It is also not a coincidence that this is occurring in Florida with Jeb Bush at the helm of government there, while his brother, George W. in charge of our nation. These two leaders who have deep moral beliefs and spiritual convictions are the thorns in the devil's side that he cannot tolerate. The fact that this has become a political game is the devil’s planned effect. And as this unfolds and tears at the threads of judicial robes, and political "suits" Satan is cheerleading on the sidelines enjoying the volley.

Whatever the outcome, whatever the time of their deaths, or the news we hear about abductions, we must all remain ever vigilant, be most fearfully aware, and pray with the greatest fervor than at any other time in our own recent history.

St. Michael the Archangel, arm us well. Keep evil thoughts and from filling our minds, and fill out hearts and souls with love. Help us to remain faithful believers through the trials that are now upon us. Keep the light shining brightly for us that we may always find our way in the thickening fog that will settle around us. Fill us with the courage of the Holy Spirit as we face our enemies who wait steadfastly to steal our faith and our belief in God’s profound love. Amen.

WE ARE COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVES! I never truly understood what that meant until Terry Shiavo. The Democratic party is showing their true colors. And society is largely turned off by their lack of empathy.

We as compassionate conservatives feel the innocent should be protected and the guilty should be punished. We give compassion to those deserving of compassion, and do not misplace it on killers, rapists, or murderers.

We know the polls are skewed. They are always skewed. And people see, people will see! Don't worry! I have faith.
