Are you being targeted for euthanasia? (Schiavo case only the tip of the iceberg!)

I'm glad that you had a good hospital experience.
You didn't say if he had a living will. You also didn't say where you live.
She is reporting from Liberal hell.
As 20+ years a nurse, I will testify that a living will will get you substandard care if you are elderly.

Anecdotes aside, My father was neglected to death in a hospital because of his living will.

Hospice is about dying naturally, but not by being executed.

I am sorry to hear- My point was not to be unsympathetic, just to point out that this was all highly emptional 'stories' with no sources, names, dates, etc.
I plan to have a 'living will' I DO NOT want to drag my family finances down a money pit just to keep me clinging on for a few more months.

Considering that she was writing from liberal hell, her experiences are very believable.

I've spent 20 years as a hospital RN. If you want substandard care, have a living will.
If you want to have one fine, but if you are ever in the hospital for something less than a terminal illness, when they ask you about having a living will. Tell them no.
Have someone you trust implicitly pull it out when the situation warrants.

Also make your living will extremely specific, do not sign a standard form.

If there were any Republicans with a lick of sense they would start publicizing the point that euthanasia is the Democrat solution to the Social Security problem.

I also live in liberal hell, and such reports about medical "professionals" are not surprising. At 49 y.o., still racing bicycles (road, track - the velodrome at Blaine), I get these looks of "yeah, sure you do that" from the "professionals". I'm supposed to be on the big slide downhill already. The only exercise I'm supposed to be capable of is some lowest common denominator routine at Bally's.
Fortunately I found a doctor used to dealing with athletes, including older athletes, and also does the Birkie (looong cross country ski race) every year.

We now have third world health care. Hire a nuree or stay with family when they are in the hospital.

In my area of the country I have never seen a patient euthanized due to a living will.
I can attest that it will get you deficient, negligent and substandard care.
Would you explain what you mean?

found that it was interesting that my husband and his brother sat for four days in thier mother's room while she was dying and that she died during the three hours while they were showering, shaving and grabbing a bite to eat.My grandfather also died when the family left his hospital room for a little while. He didn't have an IV or anything. I've always thought he was waiting for us to leave, he didn't want to die in front of us.
