Podhoretz hits all the salient points.

This is the scary part:

The scientific rationalists see a vegetable in human form, a life only in the strictest sense of the word. They see a human machine that is broken and cannot be repaired.

Taken to the extreme, the results of this viewpoint would mean death to the mentally and physically handicapped, the aged, the infirm and pretty much anybody else who cannot and has no potential to take care of themselves and does not produce anything useful to society. Very sobering.

Good morning.

The Nazis and Soviets took this view. The Dutch and Belgians are almost there and this case sends us down the slippery slope like nothing has since Roe v. Wade.
