Perhaps one of the best ways to show the Republican Party that we mean business IS to switch parties (in my case, Constitution Party). I would support a Republican candidate if it was a toss up between a Dem and a Republican, but I will campaign for Constitution Party candidates and pray they get a foothold in the country.

My response to all of this is to vow never again vote for a politician of either party who isn't unabashedly pro-life. From now on, politicians like Schwarzenegger who oppose only partial-birth abortions will not get my vote. (I will support politicians who propose legislation that would ban only some abortions, but only if those politicians state clearly that they will continue to fight to ban all abortions.) I think what is happening to Terri is an indirect result of so many Americans' having blood on their own hands on account of abortion. People have become desensitized to the horror of one innocent's (Terri's) murder because so many innocents are murdered in abortions every day in this country. So, I remain a Republican, but I will vote for a pro-life Socialist over a pro-choice Republican from this day on.

Not a bad idea, but keep your options open by voting in Republican primaries first. Then if the GOP offers a bad choice, sit out the general election or vote for a minor candidate if one is on the ballot. This scenario would envision your skipping quite a few races on most ballots. In this way, you might be able to get the Republicans' attention and still have some voice in the electoral process.
