You do know what "futile" care means, right? It means there is never any chance of getting better, ever. You are just pouring money into a black hole, all the while using your long-gone relative as a ghoulish puppet to prop up your self-righteousness, and postponing the inevitable anguish that their death will bring. So if someone does not have a quality of life up to your standards, their life is of no value, huh?
