Rush did well touching on why so many people seem to side with Michael Schiavo and want to see Terri dead: They have "pulled the plug" on their own relatives, and are trying like crazy to tell themselves they didn't have selfish reasons for doing so; so they lash out.
However, the facts of the case now finally getting out, and Michael's overall behavior, aren't helping them much anymore.

All of the polls I've looked at were worded so prejudicially that I didn't even bother to answer them! They were terrible. They all started out asking about people in comas or they take for granted that Terri is in a PVS state, or they accept Michael's assertions as to Terri's wishes. NONE of them have asked any really pertinent questions!
In my family we have had to make these tough decisions 3 times in 10 years (both of my parents, and most recently, my little great-niece this December). My newborn niece suffered from extreme oxygen deprivation and was brain dead. Both of my parents were in deep comas and when the respirator was removed, they died. On my account, Rush is wrong. I don't feel guilty, extreme medical measures were the only thing sustaining them and they just peacefully drifted away when the needles and equipment were removed. Terri is a totally different case. People just DON'T understand the convoluted facts.
