Suspicious Backpack Found Near Schiavo Proceedings Courthouse
The streets surrounding the federal courthouse in downtown Tampa, Florida, are blocked off after a suspicious package was found outside the building.
The black backpack was spotted by courthouse security just before 8 p.m. local time.
The discovery was made at the same time a hearing was taking place in the case of Terri Schiavo.
The hearing continues uninterrupted while streets surrounding the courthouse are closed to cars and pedestrians.
Several different agencies are inspecting the backpack to determine whether it is a security threat.
