You are absolutely correct. The 'real story' behind the history of this will only emerge, unfortunately, after Terri dies. The rush to snuff her will sicken all but the most hard-hearted lefties.

Listen, we could all easily be Terri. Any one of us could be there today after a car accident. There's a great deal of soul searching going on out there. Political price? People will not vote AGAINST Republicans in mass numbers over something that happened 18 months before the next general election.

However, I would not want to be George Greer in his next reelection bid...

"I actually think that this is going to be the official Democrat proposal for saving Social Security!"

That's what Himmler and Goebbels did to create the "Master Race". Just eliminate the disfunctional and dependent people that were drags on their socialist dream society.

Gekkol is just another Democrat stirring the pot, like those Clinton-loving crones on C-Span who are always "life-long Republicans" who are switching to the Democrat Party, blah, blah, blah. They lie because that's what they do best.

Living Wills are largely ignored by the Medical Community for several reasons. They are akin to Large blanket that covers no "stitches".
The "blanket" unravels as quickly as someone attempts to pick up the 'threads'.
Most Americans are so ill informed that they don't know about Hippas (always get the sp. and apostrophe wrong!)
Essentially, any adult near and dear to you (including Spouses) are NO to have legal access regarding your true Medical condition / and or "records" unless you sign a "HIPPA" release designated to that specific person.

When my Mother was dying of Alzheimer's and finally had to be institutionalized, at least I could call every few hours and someone would check on her and update me.

When My Dad recently succumbed to Adenocarcinoma of the Lung, the hospital took him out of the ACU and then refused to give him all of his requisite "morphine, and assisted dying drugs(sorry, the name of the "A" drug escapes me now)
BECAUSE the 5th floor where "they" had placed him did NOT HAVE THE DESIGNATION TO ADMINISTER THOSE DRUGS!!
WE fought tooth and nail to move him back to ICU, My sister and I darn near caused a small riot.. He died 20 minutes after an elevator ride , three gurney changes etc.. HE WOULD HAVE FLIPPED TO SEE the State of Medicine Today!!

This man brought over 3000 babies into this world, lived among their families, went to their wakes, buried their dead, and did House Calls on top of all!!
To have some big Bull Dyke Nurse with a Bad Attitude tell us that he could "die" on the Hospitals' terms... NOT DAD"S!!

Hello Trial Attorneys, John Edwards etc!

This is not only Justices gone haywire but a Country that has been so IGNORIZED (my own special term) by the Public School System and the Left, that we are, for all intents and purposes, Virtually LOST!

Yes, they had to after Otto Von Bismarck set the retirement age for the German national retirement plan at the ridiculously low age of 65. (Where do you think FDR got it???)

>NONE, at least the Repubs have TRIED to save her. Maybe the American People will pay more attention to the election or selection of Judges.

Thanks for getting this in near the top. The anti Jeb threads are starting to look troll run... Let's face it, who goes after someone trying to help (like Jeb) and ignores Judges putting road blocks down? I'll tell you. Trolls.

I'm wondering if these people will be anxious to keep Republicans in power.

Nobody is going to remember this in November 2006, much less November 2008. The long-term political significance is nil.

Normally Neil makes sense but in this case he's an ass and clueless.

He's been chewing too many pages of Ayn Rand the hopeless fiction writer instead of absorbing the life of Thomas Jefferson.

I think you're right about this being a lose for dems when people take a closer look. *I* took a closer look and changed my mind.

The facts of this case will come out, be assured that this case will be with us a long time. THIS will not be forgotten by many millions of Americans. And many millions of Americans are far more informed now than ~20 years ago?

Thus, a sum gain for the D's thanks to idealist pie-in-the-sky Republicans.

I think we could have lost more "idealist pie-in-the-sky Republicans," if Dubya and party had said and done nothing. There may be some religous Republicans and rats who come back to the Republican party because of the effort. Net effect might actually become a plus for our side.

Surely you noticed the seminar callers on the radio shows put up by democrats?

"I am a doctor and...."

"My daughter and..."

"My wife and..."

This is noticed by millions if it's noticed by me.

I didn't think of that. I don't feel optimistic about rats deserting the rat party. We will see, but this is something I'd love to read a LOT more about--disaffected Dems leaving for the Republican party post-2004.

There is no need for any Damage Control, your assessment of the polls is flat out wrong.....the GOP is getting a windfall for showing compassion for human life and NOT siding with those that would make Hilter proud.
