How can this be? Teddy Kennedy promised me that it was a quagmire... it was G.W.'s Viet-nam. I'll need to watch the network news to verify this.

I can hardly wait to read this in the NT Times!

Strange how the MSM would trumpet American casualties when they were high but now don't mention the lack thereof.

Q: So, Senator Biden, what is your latest assessment of the current situation in Iraq?

You know we're winning when all the NPR whiners can find to report about Iraq today is the Iraqis' frustration with their cell phone service. Ha! That makes the Iraqis almost American!

Nice summary and good news. Overshadowed by the unending obsession of News networks with Court cases. Maybe it's good that the Media are obsessed with court and leave the Iraq news alone.
They would find some way to begin the "Insurgent-rooting" again and start encouraging those "early morning newscast" car bombings that they so love to report on. Better they should obsess over court cases.

Ted Kennedy and his "repeat of Vietnam" couldn't be more wrong...in some ways. In Nam, when the VC gathered and stood toe-to-toe, they lost. In Iraq, Afghanistan and anywhere else, standing toe-to-toe with the US military was is guarantee defeat - that's the right part.
The difference in Iraq is that the American people have not quit on the military, in spite of the same, though older, anti-American hippies and MSM. The Commander-In-Chief is standing by his troops. In Nam, the American people quit on us and the Commander-In-Chief was no leader.

The terrorists have also been hitting schools, and killing children, with mortar shells. This is probably a matter of an unskilled terrorist aiming the mortarNo bias there. Terrorists would never target schools and children.
If an American stray bomb or bullet hits a civilian, the press always implies that it may have been intentional. Al Jezeera just comes out and says we did it for organ transplants.

[IRAQ: Al Qaeda Losses Up, American Losses Down]
My radio must be broken. It only plays news stories from Iraq that detail how the war is being bungled by Bush. Now it seems there is evidence that the terrorists are getting their butts kicked, and my radio seems to be filtering those stories out somehow.
The only other explanation is that the news media isn't reporting these stories as aggressively, almost as if they don't want people to know how well it's going. (But I can't believe THAT.)

The terrorists have lost, they know it. In time these fascist cowards will be hunted down and exterminated. They will wish America was still in charge.
It took two years, but now the Iraqi's are taking charge of their own destiny.
Even with that being said, I do expect violence to continue for sometime both in Iraq, and eventually here. The rabid dogs are cornered, they will strike out in a last futile attempt to escape the sentence they so justly deserve.
May God Bless the Coalition and our President as they bring the fight to the enemies of freedom....
