Get a load of this jewel. George W. Bush has brought liberty to 50 million people, yet he's too "cowardly" to be the leader of the free world.
This one's a classic. Might deserve a thread of its own.
BTW, farmer, what does the TV fare of Bush's daughters have to do with anything? They're not running the country.
Also, could you explain how the Bushes are "apocraphal" (it's spelled "apocryphal")? I can't seem to fit the dictionary definition to your context.
I said all along, it takes a lot less courage to stand up to Saddam Hussein than to stand up to the American media, the ACLU and the Democrats. Hussein is a villain from central casting; everybody hates him, no controversy when you call him out. But to stand up and say the ACLU is subverting this country - now THAT would take courage. To come down to Pinellas and say, We're not going to start killing disabled people on my watch - - THAT would take courage.
But apparently we're not going to fight for the right of disabled Americans not to have their feeding tubes withdrawn.
Folks, I think this is getting a little out of hand now. I am as upset as anyone here about what is happening, and I am trying my hardest to prevent this tragedy from coming to pass.
That being said, I am still mindful of all that we have in this country and what we should all be thankful for. This is a very bad thing that is going on, but the fight is not over. Some of you appear to be willing to forsake the entire country and the leaders who are putting their careers on the line over this because of the potential for a negative outcome. This sort of schism, infighting, and defeatism is EXACTLY what the left wanted to happen during this. They want this to demoralize you, get you to sit out elections, and make clear the path for a liberal resurgence. They want you to give up on the flag, the pledge, your religion, and everything else.
I suggest that all of you stand strong with this. You can be damned sure that I will raise the flag back from half-mast when the time is appropriate, and I will be an energized as ever to right this wrong. We have much wrong here, but we still have much to be thankful for. I think in our heart of hearts, all of us knows this. Standing up against apparently insurmountable odds is what makes America great.
