I think you are wearing pink colored glasses. This is a much more serious crisis then you think. Because this is happening on the watch of a president and a governor who are conservative, and chritian and still it happens.
People who voted for those values last fall will be disenfranchised and the country will become ungovernable in about 10-12 years.
Ther will multiple parties, fragmentation and it will be just like pre war Europe.
It is happening on these threads.

While I can understand your frustration you are going off the deep end - This same type negative rhetoric was said in the 1950, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and 1990's -

Each decade many proclaim only bad things are sure to come (yet, by more often than not only better times have come on the total).

Sometimes things have to happen for the rest of the country to get up to speed. It takes something big to shake up the collective and get things done. I doubt that Iraq would be free now if 9/11 had not happened.

I don't think there would be such a call to shake up the judiciary if Terri wasn't fighting for her life.

There has to be a higher purpose for this. Sometimes something completely horrific has to happen for people to get off their butts and do something about it.

Oh, no. If certain people don't vote, the country will be plunged into chaos in a decade.

I'm thinking of starting a ping list for these zany posts.

No skin off my nose if you decide to sit it out or hitch wagons with some 3rd party. Unlike the Criminal Morally Bankrupt Enterprise of the Clinton administration and the Democrat party, President Bush knows enough to keep his authority within the bounds of the Constitution. You see a corrupted judiciary and you're blindly blaming the President. How unfortunate.

People who voted for those values last fall will be disenfranchised ...

It's happening in my house. My wife, who does not follow the news closely, votes GOP. She is really unhappy right now. "That poor woman. She's had the bum's rush from the start." (referring to Terri)

Not much of an impact since we live in Maine, and the GOP won't run a conservative here anyway.
