Shaw blew it. He should have married her so that he had control of her, then smothered her or otherwise caused her to become brain-damaged.
Then he could later sue her doctors for millions and afterward get a friendly judge to decide she really wanted to die anyway, and the judge would force her to die of thirst.
That way the perp could murder her, collect money and become famous too.

Actually, a lot of college male cheerleaders are straight. High school football players with blown knees and such. They need people strong enough to hold a woman aloft by her crotch.

It's sad that he did this...and sadder still he's a fraternity brother. No, I went to the Unversity of South Carolina, but I was still consider him a fraternity brother. I might not consider him a human being for his actions though. :(
