Wendy's Customer Bites Into Cooked Finger While Eating Chili
POSTED: 7:14 am EST March 24, 2005
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A diner's meal at a San Jose Wendy's restaurant brings a whole new meaning to the term finger food.'
Health authorities in California report a woman bit into a human finger while eating a bowl of chili at a Wendy's in Tuesday night. She immediately spit out the finger and warned others to stop eating. Then she got sick.
The county medical examiner said the human finger was cooked but not decomposed. Authorities temporarily closed the Wendy's and seized all the ingredients at the restaurant.
Officials counted all the fingers of the Wendy's workers -- and say none had a missing digit. Authorities think the finger must have come from one of Wendy's suppliers.

The radio report this morning claimed that when she showed it to the Wendy's employees, they poked at it and told her that it was celery. Celery in chili? That's really disgusting!

I hope my husband doesn't see this story. He is diabetic and Wendy's chili is one of the very few fast-food alternatives for someone having to watch their diet closely. Not anymore. It's been fingered.

Wow, I ate at Wendy's for lunch yesterday and I had the chili instead of french fries. Thankfully I didn't find any fingers, toes, or other parts.
What I'm really wondering is how does someone lose a finger and not notice it till it's cooked and packed into the chili?? I would imagine it got lopped off in whatever industrial kitchen prepares the chili. How could you not notice that you were missing a finger and shut down the line till you found it? I'm pretty sure I would notice it if I accidentaly had one of mine cut off.

Just what does this person have against finger foods? What color nail polish would you like with your chili? Flesh Tone, or Pinky Pink?

Well, if you're an illegal, working illegally in the meat processing plant, and the slicer gets you, you wrap the stump in duck tape and blame it on the dog!

I remember, years ago, reading about a Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant in Chillicothe, Ohio and a woman who had purchased a bucket of chicken to take home for her family's dinner.
(Of course this was a few years ago and many chomped on this greasy fare.)
At any rate, when the family dug in a Kentucky Fried rat was pulled out of the bucket. It seems that the workers in that KFC store didn't care whether or not they lost their jobs are were a bunch of goof-offs.
They were fired and the stores were closed and Chillicothe, Ohio was without a KFC outlet until the memories were erased.
