Don't feel too shy.
God uses us in how he knows it will work. He gets me to write prayers to make sure that I pray (He's sneaky that way!)
I adore thee, O Christ,
who chose to come among us,
taste the dust that you had created,
experience the poverty of the working man,
see the yearning of an unfed people,
know the joy of the wedding feast,
feel the grief of those who lose their loved ones,
see our greed,
our pettiness
our anger,
our selfishness,
and still, that night in Gethsemane,
beneath the full moon's light,
alone in the shadows,
knowing our faults,
you chose to bear our sins,
you, sinless, clean, pure,
so that we might live.
Forgive us, Lord, for our hardness of heart,
our lack of appreciation
of the miracle of your life,
and lead us at last home with you.
Amen.
Wow...AMEN!
Your prayers are really beautiful word-pictures. I would love to have a copy of your compilation when you get it finished.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, I have asked you for many favors, but I plead for this one:
That Terri will survive this night and be rescued from her oppressors. That she may return home with her parents. That she will be protected from all evil.
Take it and place it in your open broken Heart, that when the Eternal Father sees it, He will not refuse it.
It is not my prayer but Thine.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee.
Amen.
