Amen, pollywog, Amen.
Lord,
I turn to the memory
of that day long ago
when betrayed by a loved one,
you were taken to a hostile court,
and convicted
for a wrong you did not do
so that we might live.
Your followers, your relatives,
your mother
gathered as witnesses,
unable to change the consequence
of the actions,
their hands tied,
their hearts broken
their minds numb.
Have pity on Terri
and the family that loves them.
Martyrs to the legal injustice
that can strip a family
of a loved one,
take a life
under the fiction
that they are just doing what was wanted,
protecting a right.
Lord, you know the history of man
is full of men doing legal evil,
give those of us who are working for Terri
fortitude,
stength,
understanding,
love,
and may the darkness that led to such actions
be exposed to the light of your true justice.
Amen.
Amen
