I don't know what an MRI will show because I'm not a neurologist. But I heard on the Hugh Hewitt show that a couple of very prominent neurologists were stunned that an MRI and other tests had not been performed before reaching the diagnosis of PVS. Hugh is a very sharp guy who only quotes qualified people so I conclude that more tests need to be done. Also there are new affadavits from nurses who treated Terri for long periods of time and know that she's not in a vegatative state. They know the difference and they say she's not vegatative. She responds to stimuli and to them.

My hunch from everything I've read is there may be some corruption going on here in the Florida legal and medical system. There is a very complicated web of events that has happened here and it's tough to be informed about all of it. All I can say is that it's morally wrong to kill someone in her condition, especially when her family is perfectly willing to take care of her at their expense. That is the most shocking aspect of this case--her "husband" refuses to turn her over to her own parents and siblings and prefers to kill her instead. And then a state judge goes along with that idea! This is turning into a national disgrace.

Love to debate these neurologists right now on how a MRI would change clinical outcome...somehow I believe they wouldn't accept.
