Hey, that's right, Lenin was in jail up until the great Communist Revolution in 1917 in Russa. Just wait... Kevorkian will be pardoned or some such nonsense. Oh, and I am probably NOT going to be voting next opportunity. What's the point? There is no justice anywhere. I'll think I'll have another beer.

With all due respect, we do not know what she said about this. What we have is hearsay statements from her estranged husband. I'm not a doctor, but I am lawyer and I can give a professional opinion on this question.

I hope for Terri that this is what she wanted. It isn't what I would want.

Terri is an apple and your an orange.

I trust YOU have a living will as many others do now after this 24/7 media coverage. I assume, however, what Terri wants, only Terri knows and to use "hearsay" put forth by someone else to what Terri's wishes "are" is a very, very dangerous precedence and only can devalue the worth of human life.

Point in case, I experienced a dissection two weeks after getting married didn't have the time to change my will however had enough time to xfer ALL assets into the care of my "loving" wife in the case of my demise. I was heartless for 8 hours while my heart was repaired, and during my operation, my loving wife had my best friend put to sleep, ran the CC's up, and through conversation with mutual acquaintances, explained how she could put a person down without a trace.

I guarantee that if I didn't bode well in surgery, my loving wife would have asked to pull the plug, for it was "my wish" although I have never conveyed such a wish.

This will turn into a very messy situation if this court order goes through for IMO, the commandment "thou shall not kill" was commanded for a reason and that reason being based upon the continuance of human life, not the continuance of human perfection.

There is little correlation between MRI's (or for that matter CT scans, EEGs,etc) and coma or PVS.

"Food and water is all she needs."

If that's true, why have I been reading it's costing the taxpayers $80K per month?

I had my whole right temporal lobe removed and part of my hippocampus (?) removed because of a brain tumor and brain damage. I'm now a computer programmer and the only deficite I have is a loss of a tiny bit of my vision in my right eye. If you looked at my CT's and my MRI's you'd think I had major problems. I don't. Next they'll want to starve me to death. Evil peckers.

She knows all about that.

Supposedly this man was her father.

Why don't we re-examine her with current technology and find out definitively, rather than relying on 1996 scans that are outdated?

OK, I deal with this everyday. If a husband states his spouse doesn't want to live this way and a daughter disagrees BUT never had a discussion about the issue ,I always side with the legal guardian. I have done so many times and have actually went in front of a judge and have always won.

I already could tell, anyways by your statement....you answered the question.

And what's your point please, if you have one?

Are you capable of completing one single thought without changing the subject? If you've been trying to establish some sort of correlation between medical degrees and intelligence/valid opinion, you've seriously undermined your case. "It's called autonomy". "Where did you get your medical degree from".

Is that sort of serial non sequitur indicative of how genius MDs such as yourself engage in discussions? Well, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it's the sleep deprivation of the internship.

She said she didn't want to live like this.

Where is the irrefutable documentation that attests to Terri Schiavo's wishes? Produce that and the whole controversy goes away.

The truth is, we don't have it. What we have is the decision of a judge, based on hearsay evidence offered by, by and large, conflicted witnesses. Hearsay evidence from conflicted individuals is a poor basis upon which to pass a death sentence on an innocent person.

Well, no kidding. The observation technique used does not disclose brain activity. A dead brain and a live brain look the same on a CAT scan.

She's in a hospice facility.

They're expensive.

"The brain rewires itself. "

You are correct about that one, but then this case with Terri has everything to do with euthanasia, can't be bothered by the facts here. Hey, it was the youth from asia that did us in in 2001 now we have euthanasia knocking on our back door here in the US. Keepin' up with our neighbors in Europe. What bothers me is not only is Michael Kevorkian getting away with murder, then a precedent is set for other spouses with less than pure motives.
