The spiritual advisor of the Schindlers, Bro. O'Donnell, said the Dept. of Children and Families has had a new physician examine Terri and that "he DID go into her room and WAS at her side and DID observe her."
Department of Children and Families, are the department if someone is being physically abused, or the elderly, and "they have the authority" to take her into protective custody.
He continued, "what is being done to her now constitutes" that, and that DCF should "be taking her into protective custody."
Cooper: "Aren't people being taken off feeding tubes all the time?" Brother O'Donnell: "When they're DYING. But she was not dying. She could live another 20, 40 years."
"She's the only person who has been COURT ORDERED to have her tubes removed. Not 'The guardian MAY" but the guardian 'shall' remove her tubes."
CNN checked on the facticity of this last claim, and found that "There is ONLY ONE other case, Nancy Beth Cuzan in which the court ordered the tube MUST be removed."
Dr.Sanjay Gupta says if Terri is in the minimally conscious state, her eyes open spontaneously. She must do one of the following: --follow simple commands (to show she can hear and understand) --give yes or no responses
So you believe in the infallibility of doctors, huh?
Neither the guardians ad litem nor the Schindlers are qualified to make the diagnosis of PVS. They believe what they're told until they consider other options. The Schindlers did, the guardians ad litem did not. Neither an MRI nor a PET (especially!) was ever done, and the PVS diagnosis is severely flawed by its dependence on a 45 minute consult and only a CT.
I know how you feel, Texas Eagle,
But thing of it this way - so does Satan.
And that evil creature is ours to follow.
True love (even through clinched teeth!) is better than hate.
Simple fact is, with the strides they are making with regeneration using adult stem cells, they could well find a cure for her in a few years.
YIPES!!
NOT OURS TO FOLLOW!
NOT OURS TO FOLLOW!
My gosh, I need some coffee!!!! Or a chocolate candy bar...
It is my understanding that it was not until Dr. Cheshire (Mayo Clinic) observed Terri, and they were able to obtain longer versions of the film clips that have been circulating, they could not make a decision.
They attempted to intervene at least one other time and their petition was denied by Greer.
So all the doctors and therapists who treated Terri are wrong but YOU are right? Huh. The things you learn on Free Republic. It's getting more and more informative every day.
If this country is to be saved, it will be through immigrants that value life. The rot setting in among the populace that don't value life is a sign of the decay within the once great struggle for the highest ideals that defined this republic.
I don't want to grow old in this country.
well, fercryinoutloud, after being without food and water for five days, in certain emotional turmoil, and possibly even under the influences of pain meds, yeah, Terri might be a bit slow in responding to stimulus. But even with the present conditions, this dr. still disagreed with the previous PVS ruling.
What does Judge Greer personally gain by Terri being murdered?
That is it?
Did this physician examine her? If he was in the room for 90 minutes, what was he doing?
That's nice. Did he give her any water?
Well, what kind of doctor makes a diagnosis after spending 90 minutes with a patient?
In Florida, those who attempt murder can get their victim/patients executed and then cremated.
May they all starve themselves.
By the way, a judge has already ordered DCF not to do anything.
SHE HAS OT EATEN IN HOW MANY DAYS.... what do they expect.. a handstand, cartwheel...etc..etc...
We don't have to be "right" for Terri to have a chance at new diagnosis using modern diagnostic equipment. Maybe we are wrong, so what? What does that have to do with giving Terri a chance at diagnosis by unbiased doctors based on modern tests. Convicted murderers get a new chance at DNA testing. Whom did Terri kill that she should be executed in this manner?
I agree, it's not fair to test her right now. Every one of us typing here would have trouble passing the test if deprived of food or water for 5 days!
