Gotcha . Was that in Canterbury Tales -- the Friars' Tale, perhaps? I did the Nun's Priest's Tale many years ago in the original Old English, but I don't remember that. As I said, it was quite while ago, though.
I don't THINK it was the Friar's tale, since theoretically the Friar would have told that one... but Friars seemed to be pretty universally hated in the tales.
