DCF Considers Removing Schiavo from Hospice by Force

State officials say they are considering removing Terri Schiavo from hospice, by force if necessary, despite numerous court orders upholding the removal of the artificial nutrition tube that has kept her alive for 15 years.

Lucy Hadl, secretary of the Department of Children and Families, said Wednesday morning that her staff is relying on a state law that gives the department the authority to intervene on behalf of a vulnerable adult who is 'suffering from abuse or neglect that presents a risk of death or serious physical injury.'

Hadl said that the DCF would have to file a petition in order to remove Schiavo, but that 'it doesn't mean we'd have to have judicial approval in advance of taking the action if we believed it met the threshold for doing it.'

Hadl said that seven years of court rulings backing Schiavo's husband Michael, in his contention that Terri Schiavo did not wish to be kept alive artificially would not stop the DCF from taking action.

'We're not compelled to look at prior judicial proceedings,' Hadl said.

What we are compelled to look at is the presenting circumstances and any allegiations of abuse and neglect that we have recieved. So we have to deal with those and fufill out statutory responsibility.'

Maybe before you become a history professor, you will buy a clue as to the constitutional (14th Amendment) Right to Life, and be as concerned, given the claim on your webpage of placing priority on the culture wars, about the premeditated judicial murder of this innocent woman as you seem to be in giving aid and comfort to those responsible.

It is not a mere matter of opinion, much less judicial opinion, whether this woman is entitled to live. The default position is life. The Pinellas County judge and everyone else blatantly refuse to allow a trial de novo (an entirely new trial) based upon substantial newly discovered evidence, advances in diagnostic medical methods, testimony by four nurses of Michael Schiavo's expressed intentions, including: "When is this b_tch going to die" which he stated 12 years ago when the cash supply from the malpractice claims was still fully there, testimony of evidence that Michael administered at least one insulin injection to the non-diabetic Terri which might have killed her by induced hypoglycemia (low blood sugar leading to coma).

You are probably sincerely wrong but a case could be made for diminished brain activity of yours if you think you can diagnose Terri. The diagnosis relied on by this judicial pig Greer is by a Minnesota neorologist who is as enthusiastic for death of patients as Dr. Kevorkian. Michigan jailed Kevorkian and a good thing too. Unfortunately, Michigan could not accomplish executing Kevorkian. Citizenship is no guarantor of medical insight. Opinions are like, ummmmm, noses or whatever.

More people testified that Terri either never spoke of this, or testified that TERRI said exactly the opposite. The judge decided to IGNORE their testimony. EVEN the movie that was supposed to be on TV, Karen Quinlan, the situation that Karen was in was not the same as TERRI's. Terri, regardless to what you keep repeating, is not in a COMA. One court, one judge, decided TERRI wanted to die. One judge who never has seen Terri. All other courts have ruled based on the original evidence and Greer's original rulings. Greer is keeping medical records SEALED. Why? What does he have to hide? Does that make you wonder?

It doesn't bother you that they are arresting children down in Florida? That Terri's case is SO CRITICAL to some hidden agenda that the JUDGE is willing to make (as they say) A FEDERAL CASE out of it?

The religious group I belong to is called the Roman Catholic Church. It is the largest numerical denomination in the United States and we vote (increasingly and recently by majority Republican, a trend line that Demonrats are determined NOT to reverse). We used to be known as the Democratic Party at prayer. Courtesy of Roe vs. Wade and atrocities like the murder of Terri (who is one of us and educated only in Catholic schools), we are already a substantial part of the Republican Party at prayer. Perhaps, you have heard of the Roman Catholic Church. My Torquemada tagline was a clue.

The pope (the Vicar of Christ on Earth and the sole earthly head of the RCC) is, as I type, giving a very good account of himself by giving a magnificent example of actual "death with dignity." He is apparently determined to remain at the helm until God calls him home. And that's not all. When he dies, he will be replaced by a younger man in far better health with a renewed vigor to wage a spectacular war against the increasingly despicable amorality of the world.

Lest you are too quick to ask. I support just war (including the Iraq War) and I support the death penalty, both of which are lavishly supported in Catholic precedent and Catholic teaching and Catholic practice and the Catholic Catechism issued by this pope. I subscribe to actual Catholicism not the SeeBSNBCABCCNNNYT version.

Both Catholicism and conservatism are among those phenomena legitimately to be labeled as wheat. What you separate yourself from is those forms of wheat and any others. Cheerleading the intentional judicially assisted murder of innocent people like Terri is not a trait associated with wheat.

Yes, you have asked just what I've been thinking about this morning. They obviously want her to die quickly. How very sad this all is. I've been praying all week... seems as though our prayers just aren't being heard, but I know they are! All we can do now is put Terri in God's hands & know that HE is aware of what is going on. He will take care of all this.. and Terri.

This may have already been posted, but I haven't see it... what if during these times when they are refusing Terri's family visitation in her room, they are pumping her full of something to end her life quicker? IS that possible? Can't someone put a camera in there & video-tape what's going on in that room???? If anyone here knows someone who could possibly make that happen, CALL THEM NOW!!!
