So NOW if they decide not to hear it, THEN you can legitimately say that they chose to let the lower cour ruling stand.
I took civics Destro. Just never had a teacher that progressive enough to tell us the SCOTUS could rule on a case that's never been filed in their court.
Letting a lower court decision stand without comment/review is accepting said decision. Sort of like teh president not signing a law but not vetoing it either which after some days turns that bill into a law without his approval.
