On Fox News Channel, Martha McCallum just announced that Florida governor Jeb Bush will make a statement on the Terri Schiavo case at 3 PM EST.
That sounds right. But no federal marshals. They'd laugh at Jeb Bush if he attempted to tell them what to do. He ain't their boss. His brother is.
He was probably letting Greer know that contacting him was a courtesy - his opinion will not matter.
If there are strong forces at play even against Greer - possibly this lets him know he is safe to sign the order.
But I'm sure it is not that really - a little stretch.
You know, there is something that occurred to me about the Department of Adult Services. They are, as a rule, a liberal bunch of people. I wonder if this situation is giving them heartburn because they hate siding with Republicans?
Jeb was rightly perplexed and said he didn't know.
I favor the DCF just taking custody now. Let the Florida senate be damned!
'Cause she's been hanging on like a Warrior Princess. May the Good Lord invigorate her being to withstand this sentence a good while longer.
We join together across this nation to lift up your child, Terri, and to ask for a special miracle in her life. Hold her close to You during this time of tremendous trial, and whisper to her words of Your love and protection. We know that with You all things are possible, and we know also that You love her with an everlasting love. We ask for Your Spirit to guide Governor Bush and all those who are in the position to battle on behalf of Terri. Father, we pray that Terri would live out all of the days You have given her and that the forces of death and destruction would have no victory here. We commit all this to You, our God, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think, according to Your power at work in us through Christ Jesus. We pray this in our Savior's Name. Amen.
My daughter worked for the FDLE, good outfit.
BTTT!
Most state police departments, small as they are, are excellent. They don't get a lot of publicity, but they do their job.
They'll crucify this doc ... link to a poem that appears to be his -it shows very strong anti-righttodie views. They'll say he's biased.

I am usually minimally concious after not eating for 5 or 6 hours.
Hersay is admissible if the declarant is unavailable. It is an exception to th heresay rule. Now with that said, admissibility does not equal believability.
(one famous example exception to the heresay rule is the dying declaration exception to heresay. The theory is that a dying man or woman would be less likely to lie as they are dying. "X" just shot me.)
What I find interesting is that were this "a" clinton president wanting action, there would ne no messing with legislatures. If they wanted something done it would be an executive order and done.
Are you so sure that 99.99% of people would rather die than live like Terri?
Not me. Smiling at jello (and having some kind of life, as long as I'm not in severe pain) is better than being dead, IMO.
I think the ABC poll found that 80% of people would rather die. Terri might have been in that 20%, with me.
Regretful kudos for the DNC seal of DEATH, FRiend. Regretful that it's the truth.
I agree.
I just about threw up when I heard Shep say that!
As I understand it, it was necessary for MS and Greer to have her diagnosed as PVS because otherwise they couldn't have pulled the tube legally. (I also read on FR that MS' atty -- Feros? -- is a member of the Hemlock Society and helped push through the statute defining a feeding tube as life support, on a par with a respirator or heart pump.)
I agree
....this is soooo damn nerve wracking...!!
