Someone here a couple of days ago posted something about this guy...said he was a laughingstock or something. Possibly not really nominated for the Nobel prize.
He
was nominated for the Nobel Prize.....by his local
congressman. According to the Nobel Prize website, invitations are sent out to approximately 3,000 people who are allowed to propose candidates. The 3,000 are "mainly members of the Nobel Assembly, previous prize winners, and a selection of professors at universities around the world." If my mother sent a letter to the Nobel Committee recommending me, I would be just as much a Nobel Prize nominee as this guy.
By the way, the doctor was also disciplined in 2003 by the Florida Board of Medicine, which ruled that he charged a patient for services that were not provided. The board fined him $2,000, placed him on probation for six months, and ordered him to pay approximately $52,000 in administrative costs and to perform 100 hours of community service.
