"God has not kept Terri alive. A feeding tube has kept Terri alive."

Sorry Peach you have no authority to make this claim. I could say that Terri is alive because the Heavenly Father wanted some people to wake up and see they have allowed this nation to turn to a judicial system to be their god. I could actually quote Scripture as the evidence.

Christ warned to take heed and not be deceived, got to read the rest of the document to know who the deceiver is. The prevailing wind is to make the Heavenly Father PC to fit ones own life not to fit HIS.

"There are 30,000 people currently designated PVS in this country."
"Their days are numbered."

Aren't everyone's?

So how bad off was Terri in her first few years? With proper care, she would not be where she is now; she has gotten worse due to neglect.

Absolutely correct! She was speaking some words, she was far more aware and all one has to do is look at Kate Adamson to see what Terri could have become with the correct treatment!

You have gone to far.

Thank you for saying that. I've been thinking the same thing about Peach for days now.

I also find it amazing that this is the 1st quote on Peach's home page: "The only thing necessary to insure the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" - Edmund Burke (1729-1797) Kinda hypocritical don't you think??????

" so she didn't tell MS anything in 1996 or 7."

Okay, but thats when Michael says she told him no life support.

Do you believe his story?

One of the hardest of these is to let a loved one die when medical technology could keep him or her alive.

You Said:

A feeding tube is not an example of "medical technology".

I think a feeding tube is an example of "medical technology", though it is the functional equivalent of a spoon. Nonetheless, technology has given the ability to feed Terri through a tube.

"She supposedly told Michael she didnt want to live on life support in 97,"

She had her heartfailure and resulting brain damage in 1990. She said this in 97?

I could be wrong; I thought it was said on cable news the other day that this was wnen Michael says she told him no life support. I may very well be wrong; I can check but can't at this moment.

Bad form! Personal attacks or comments on Peach are bad form! I might not agree with her view on this either, but her comments and posts on FR are well respected and thought out. It helped me in reconsidering my view of Hammersfahl (sp?).
Be nice to her!

It doesn't matter what I believe. It's what the courts have believed.

He saw both his parents die of terminal illnesses and watched some movie with Karen. He and various family members report that she said she never wanted tubes or machines.

Have you ever stood at the bedside of someone hooked up to a feeding tube or any other machine? Most of us have probably now that we're getting older. Every single time I've stood next to such a bed, everyone in the room has said "don't let that happen to me." And so many people have reported similar experiences that I imagine that's why the courts have found MS believable on this point. Barring a lie detector test, they say he seems credible.

Have you seen this article about how Terri's parents once praised him to the sky? And did you know that the Wolfson report, who, btw, the SSchindlers adored and wanted re-instated, admits that the Schindlers know their daughter is PVS.

"It helped me in reconsidering my view of Hammersfahl"

I've wondered too. Nothing in particular, just wonder.

Wonder what he thinks about Stem Cell research? Seems his an advocate if I recall correctly? Wants to exploit Terri as an experiment?

Big bucks to be made?

Greer did acknowledge that his, as well as the other four doctors he heard from, were all well credentialed. And yes, Peach has done her homework and does much to advance all of our understandings of what's going on in this most important matter.

"It's what the courts have believed"

I guess thats where we differ, I think.

I believe that Greer and Felos have an agenda, an alterior motive for all this and that Terri is being used as a pawn.

Considering that Terri's own parents have stated they believe that Terri is PVS, that Wolfson (one of her 4 guardian ad litems) is an attorney so she's been represented by 4 GALs, some of whom are docs and the other is a lawyer, and that the Doctors recommended Michael pull the tube in 93 and 94, I'll have to disagree with you.

Those original doctors in 93 and 94 didn't have an agenda.

Well, if his patients are medicaid as he says, then he makes no money. However I dont know if he made money from federal funding for a trial on this area of study...don't know...
