ATLANTA (Reuters) - A U.S. appeals court rejected an appeal by the parents of a brain-damaged Florida woman against a lower court's refusal to reinsert Terri Schiavo's feeding tube, according to an opinion issued Wednesday.

Looks like she's in big trouble. I don't expect the Supremes to even take the case, and if they do, Kennedy will be the swing vote that means Terri's death.

We should have kept our focus on the Florida Senate. All the federal stuff was a sideshow.

Call the Florida Senators. Don't e-mail them unless you have to. Burn up their phone lines.

This is what I feared would happen. God help Terri, and the rest of us now. Michael Schiavo I hope Terri's face haunts you the rest of your life. But to do that, he'd have to have a conscience, wouldn't he? The slimeball will not lose a moments sleep over the wife he claims to love so dearly. I'm still in disbelief.

This makes 0 sense. Isn't it always wiser to err on the side of caution? Why can't she live?

This looks like the end of it.

I can't imagine the Supremes taking this. The only option is the En Banc ruling from the entire 11th.

The 11th is conservative, but in a way that they hate taking any case basically.

Pray for Terri, for her comfort during this time and that if she goes, she goes quickly and peacefully to her Father.

Pray for her to linger through any more appeals and to quickly go meet her Savior if the SCOTUS rejects her appeal. I don't want her to linger through next week....God be with her.

Looks like about 50,000 retarded people are in trouble too. Extreem late term abortions are here. Let me guess, the next step is that to be Political incorrect, or Republican, is "brain damage"?

This is truly heart breaking. Let us continue to pray for Terri and her family. I still hold onto hope in this situation.

Well, that's pretty much it. The odds are great that the Supremes will reject the appeal out of hand. Unless something happens in the FL legislature, it's the end of the road.

Remind me again. What the hell is the point of having a legislature? Why bother? A single lone judge will pronounce his opinion -- contrary -- to the legislature and it looks like we, the people have no recourse other than to take it.

I'm just sick over this defeat. I think Jeb should call out the guard and go get her, although thats not going to happen. Would he have the power to do that, or George W. either?

"Why can't she live?"

Because an estranged husband says that she wouldn't want to live even though her parents are willing to care for her. JMHO.

Time to overhaul the judiciary. Limit to 10-year terms on the bench, don't fund law clerks who write the opinions for lazy judges, and use congressional power of impeachment on 25 or so of the most egregious examples of human debris wearing black robes. It would send a message to the rest of the clowns to get with the program.

It would suffice that there's a God. Like the rich man and Lazarus, he may find himself viewing her from the opposite side of the heaven/hell chasm. Then who will be needing the water???

Indeed. There has hardly been a greater example of judicial tyranny. Judicial panels no longer read the language of laws passed by Congress and signed by the president. If they did, they'd give Terri a fair chance at a new finding of fact, as Congress decreed by a majority vote. Instead, judges make their decisions based on their own feelings.

Terri's in big trouble, but so is our republic. This is a sad day. Basic decency is shunned. And the explicitly detailed laws of Congress are ignored.

Did Teri receive or not recieve. . .'Last Rights'. I heard/read her husbad would not permit this. . .then his lawyer; who has lied about so many things . . .offered, in true to life voice. . . that she had not been denied - and tdhat she had received this Sacrament.

I have seen nothing to substantiate his claim. . .so am wondering what has in fact happened. Perhaps he was referencing something from the past - although, he made it sound like last weekend.

I am ashamed of the flag today and so would our founding fathers be. Our flag was never meant to be the living death shroud as such as Terri.
