So, cops are supposed to sublimate their sense of morality to people who write the laws?

Tell you what, let's put a 100 people on feeding tubes behind a chain link fence, remove the tubes, then have the cops keep people from taking them water or sustenance. Why not? It's legal, the courts say so....

I hope this is sarcasm on your part. They most certainly do have a duty to ignore immoral laws and refuse to enforce them.
