HAYWARD - The Alameda County Office of Education is scheduled to vote tonight on a resolution tonight that would encourage parents to not release their children's personal information to military recruiters on high school campuses.
The board is scheduled to vote on the item at 5:45 p.m. The county office is located at 313 W. Winton Ave. in Hayward.
The federal No Child Left Behind act gives the Pentagon access to students' names, addresses and phone numbers so they may be contacted and recruited for military service, according to the county office. Schools that get funds under the act cannot refuse such access.
These freaking losers are more concerned with making the world safe for "islamofascists" than providing a solid education for the children. They should be thrown behind bars.
What's the beef?
If recruiters call and you don't want to talk to them, or have them talk to your child, tell them no. It's no different from any other business or agency that cold-calls you.
What the hell is so outrageous about that?
If they were to pass this, i would cut all funding to the school district, any federal funding to the city, and recall any millitary defense contracts in this county immediately.
I would also make designate it the last place to get federal disaster relief by the armed forces in the case of an emergency.
