Alameda County ed board tackles 'No Child' military recruiting

HAYWARD - The Alameda County Office of Education is scheduled to vote tonight on a resolution tonight that would encourage parents to not release their children's personal information to military recruiters on high school campuses.

The board is scheduled to vote on the item at 5:45 p.m. The county office is located at 313 W. Winton Ave. in Hayward.

The federal No Child Left Behind act gives the Pentagon access to students' names, addresses and phone numbers so they may be contacted and recruited for military service, according to the county office. Schools that get funds under the act cannot refuse such access.

The school system in the Peoples Republic of Berkeley are offended by Thomas Jefferson. Oakland public schools were mismanaged into bankruptcy while teaching ebonics and bussing students to anti-America rallies. Pity the children.

These freaking losers are more concerned with making the world safe for "islamofascists" than providing a solid education for the children. They should be thrown behind bars.

If my old school district ever thought of doing this I swear I would want to go to the meeting and make a statement.

I would say: Thank God you *used* to let recruiters on campus because after the public school education you gave me I was absolutely unprepared for the world. The A's I received in college and the success I am today are a direct result of the self discipline and drive I learned by being in the Army for 5 years. It's certainly not due to the the touchy-feely, 'at-least-you-tried', liberal brain-mush you provided here.

What's the beef?

If recruiters call and you don't want to talk to them, or have them talk to your child, tell them no. It's no different from any other business or agency that cold-calls you.

What the hell is so outrageous about that?

If they were to pass this, i would cut all funding to the school district, any federal funding to the city, and recall any millitary defense contracts in this county immediately.

I would also make designate it the last place to get federal disaster relief by the armed forces in the case of an emergency.
