Another Pence profile!
Pence was against MediPill, against NCLB, and is for the President's proposal for SS personal savings account. He's heads and shoulders over any of the other possible GOP 2008 candidates in my book.
Anyone know where he stands on tax reform?
He is one of the leaders of the coalition that wants to abolish the IRS.
Legislators don't have a great record of success in running for POTUS. I sure hope that holds up for Hitlery when she tries to storm the walls of the Presidency!!!
So very true! I am quite heartened that Pence's name ID continues to rise and I have no doubt that he will one day be one of our finest Presidents ever. There is no Governor with more "real" experience than Pence. Please put me on your Pence list!
The positive words from Club for Growth go a long way in my book...and I would hope in others here at FR.
Well good... then he's not already a career politician and can be "Mr. Smith goes to Washington!" (that doesn't have a big success record, either)
Does he have a brother named "Six"?
Is he divorced? (Ex-) :-p
What're you tryin ta pull here???
Guys from Indiana haven't got such a great record for landing in the Whitehouse, either.
If ya gotta explain 'em, then they ain't very funny!
I'm sorry! That was funny and it sailed right over my head. I must have a strain of Brit blood in me that seems to cause slowness in catching on to quick witted humor such as yours... especially on a sleepy, rainy morning stuck in CA's Schwarzenegger sponsorship of a whole new governmental boondoggle called the Sierra-Nevada CONservancy!!!
I mean no disrespect, but how about a CONSTITUTIONAL test, Mr. Pence? Where does the Constitution give the federal government the authority to spend taxpayers' $ on prescription drugs? Doesn't the 10th Amendment leave that issue to the states?
I know your intentions are good, & it's great to hear that someone in Congress (other than the very honorable Rep. RON PAUL, of course) is willing to take somewhat of a stand against the vast increases of federal power under President Bush, but we need you & more of your fellow "small" government Republicans in Congress to stand up EARLY & OFTEN. Please don't cave to your Party's leadership the way the GOP Party does to the Dims. Make THEM start shaking in their boots when they see you walking down the hall. Embarrass them on national TV (provided that the MSM will allow you to state your views in the first place) & show the American people how much of a big-government Party the GOP has become.
I can attest that what Gipper08 and those who know Mr. Pence is true; Congressman Pence is one of the finest examples of Christian Stateman left in WaD.C. He not only stands first for God, and family, and country, he is not affraid to speak the truth (see ephesians; love...), even when it puts him at odds with those whom are his 'superiors' (aka White House and House Leaders). Mike Pence has put himself on the line again, and again because He knows it is the right thing to do! I say Mike Pence 08!! Viva la Liberty!!
So he says he's a conservative, just not a fiscal conservative.
Yeah.....rather than borrowing $, why not DRASTICALLY cut spending?
What would YOU do if you were as deep in debt as Washington, DC is: would you (1) go to your boss & demand a raise (which DC does & FORCES us to pay more in taxes), or (2) eliminate spending where it's not totally necessary to feed your family?
It looks to me like Mr. Pence has the common sense to not do the former, but little desire to do the latter...instead, he'd go to his neighbors & family members to borrow the $ & keep spending as usual, or maybe just a LITTLE less.
