I wouldn't say that I believe in evolution because I'm a liberal. In any case, I've never argued that evolution should be believed by everyone, and I don't think that's what this argument is about. It's just about what is being taught in our science classes. From my perspective, what is taught in science class should be science. That is, it should be scientifically sound. ID/Creationism just isn't. So I say talk it up, argue the philosophical points, even try to design experiments that would show an ID theory explains something that evolution can't. But don't try to put it into our children's science classes until it is science.

I would contend that what I've just said is not a liberal or conservative position, but just a position, which is why I am comfortable posting it here.

I agree. I'm also sure you know that qualified scientists have some disagreements and/or problems with the theory of evolution. I don't see why those shouldn't be discussed in schools right along side the discussion on the theory of evolution.
