I read all of your posts on this thread.

How do you explain the CMB, SN1987A, the Lyman Alpha Forest, etc. They sure don't match up with Genesis. Are you absolutely positive Genesis was written as a literal description of the origin of the universe?

Let me assure you that there is much that I do not know or understand. I will only have faith in a God that allows me to be intellectually honest. Thusfar He has satisfied my questions.

We are somewhat constrained by the Genesis text as to the details of how God executed the Creation process. Much of the Creation story is shared elsewhere in the Bible. There is a very good likelihood that during the formation of the matter, including light particles, that the radiometric dating methods we use today may not have applied. There are scientists who suggest this possibility regarding the initial stages of the Big Bang.

We know exactly nothing about creating matter out of nothing. This will be a hole in our understanding until the Creator chooses to explain it to us. There are many passages that are consistent with what we would expect scientifically of a Creator. For example the description of space being spread out like a curtain is more consistent than the bubble explosion model first posited by Big Bang Theorists. We have discovered that our universe is spreading on a flat plane.

I have referred you before to Lambert Dolphin, the former Senior Research Physicist at Stanford University. Because I am not an expert, I will look through his library of links for CMB, SN1987A and the Lyman Alpha Forest, to get a biblical scientific experts ideas regarding these topics.

Thank you for pointing them out as potential contradictions to the Genesis text. The Biblical God that I know is reasonable and open to challenges. This, IMO, is why He uses persuasion, as opposed to forcing people to submit to Him.
