Evolution is compelling in it's ability to explain variation and adaptation, as the author fully recognizes, however extrapolating beyond that places a person in a position of having faith in explanations that don't always line up, and are often contradicted. Something the Bible hasn't had to deal with even though there has been two thousand years of the finest minds trying to tear it down.
Like God, I say it is your call. He created you with the capacity to choose who/what you will follow. He is reasonable and open to your investigation of His ways.
