He has no legal standing here but that NEVER stopped him from making comments on the death sentence of a GUILTY man, with results. Wasn't it Timothy McVeigh and someone else that he spoke publically against who faced capital punishment when they were GUILTY beyond all reasonable doubt?
So why can't he comment on an INNOCENT woman guilty of being brain damaged and put to death for it?
WHY the shyness NOW?
If I don't hear him comment on Michael for what he is, I say he is a hypocrite.
"If I don't hear him comment on Michael for what he is, I say he is a hypocrite."
The Vatican has already stated its objection to withholding nutrition and water from Terri. The Pope? Well, he's pretty ill right now. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any direct word from him. He couldn't even say anything at the Palm Sunday gathering in Rome.
In any case, it would not influence the courts. Yes, he could speak out on this, but it would have no effect here. We are not governed by the Pope in Rome.
