To: Knitting A Conundrum
Sort of like how when the Nazis first sterilized the people with mental problems, then euthanized them, it was all done legally by having doctors certify the person was in such and such condition and the lawyers there to make sure it happened.

You know this happened in the U.S.? Many folks in Massachusetts and other states were sterilized against their will, and they were not criminals.

It used to be common in the first 2/3s of the 20th c to have laws that sterilized people with things like epilepsy...but at least we didn't think it was right to put down the "useless eaters"
