How can it go to the 11th circuit in a matter of hours? Is this is final decision or an interim one while he "ponders" his decision?

Just reported that this is a response to an emergency request by the family and not a ruling on the main case. But it doesn't bode well.

As I understand it, it's a ruling on an emergency motion to restore the feeding tube. In ordinary cases, you can appeal something like that even if the whole case hasn't been heard. It's not done that often, but it's done.

That judge might as well have issued a statement that he had no intention of conducting a de novo review.
