He also cautioned that while God is loving and merciful his mercy is limited to those that will listen to the truth and He will not allow us to mock Him forever.
I've been reflecting on the answer I will give God when He asks what I did to protect the weakest amoung us. Alas, besides praying, some modest donations to pro-life groups and thinking that I was voting for politicians that would keep His word my answer is going to come up very, very short.
Please do not think that I am suggesting violence but perhaps it's coming to the point where we will have to risk our easy life and simply refuse to feed the beast by withholding taxes.
I suspect that this would be futile, a majority of this country doesn't care, but I've been betrayed by politicians that washed their hands in my name and I'm not excited about shuffling off this mortal coil with such a poor resume.
Sorry, that all sounds somewhat dispondent and I guess it is; I have a problem with patience and but I know that God will eventually answer my prayers by showing me His wishes.
I have been meditating on Proverbs 8 and especially the 36th verse:
But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul:all they that hate me love death.
Also Psalms 59, verses 1-7 seemed especially appropriate.
Thanks for your time, this thread seems morbund except for the two of us, but I have drawn substance from our exchange and I thank you for it.
This should be a most appropriate passage to quote during this holy season:
Pilate said to Jesus, Are you the King of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "Do you ask this on your own, or did others tell you about me?" Pilate replied, "I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?" Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my followers would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here." Pilate asked him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice." (John 18:34-38)
The joy of Easter to you. Have faith. Our God will make all work to his good.
