Adios, America

Anti-immigrant sentiment appears to be growing in the United States, Mexican President Vicente Fox said Wednesday, and he urged U.S. officials to act quickly to control movements such as the 950-member-strong Minuteman Project on the Mexico-Arizona border. "We will use the law, international law and even U.S. law to make sure that these types of groups, which are a minority ... will not have any opportunity to progress."

Fox said he plans to push for U.S. immigration reform during a meeting with President Bush in Texas next week. He also said the two leaders, along with Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, likely will announce a plan to expand the scope of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

In the spring of 1950, the foreign minister of France, Robert Schuman, proposed that France and Germany collectivize their coal and steel resources. On June 3 of that year, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Italy the Netherlands and Germany subscribed to what became known as the Schuman Declaration, which in 1951 led to the Treaty of Paris establishing the European Coal and Steel Community.

Fifty-one years later, the sale of national sovereignty was completed when most of the governments across Europe abandoned their national currencies in favor of the euro and accepted that the dictates of the unelected 17-man European Commission would thenceforth supersede national legislatures.

Two score and 11 years was all it took to transform a diverse community of sovereign nations into a single oligarchic dictatorship, beginning with nothing more than the humble coordination of mining activities. The European Union is far more civilized than its Soviet namesake, for it uses banks instead of tanks to enforce its will, but the absence of a body count does not mean that the institution respects individual liberties or suffers any limits upon its power. Still, if the Europeans are shortsighted enough to allow their governments to sign them up for the de facto Fourth Reich, it's hard to find much sympathy for them – particularly when the same process has already begun here at home.

Like the European Common Market, NAFTA was billed to an unsuspecting public in 1992 as a free-trade agreement, when in fact it was simply the first step toward the supra-national pan-American political entity that will be called the American Union. Or perhaps, as the current parlance has it, the Union of the Americas.

This is why George Bush and the Republican leadership so freely – and otherwise inexplicably – ignore the will of the Republican Party membership, which is strongly in favor of enforcing the immigration laws, if not tightening them. There is no point in attempting to prevent Mexican citizens from entering the United States when citizens of Mexico, the USA and Canada will soon enjoy a shared national identity.

This is also why grass-roots efforts to change the status quo of de facto open borders are doomed to failure, as any attempt by state and local politicians to enforce the law in border states will be quickly shut down by federal organizations and the judiciary, and as President Fox helpfully points out, private attempts will be prosecuted in any court likely to find them illegal.

Since the U.S. Constitution no longer exists as a definitive legal document, but has instead been transformed into an occasional inspiration for the pronouncements of the unelected nine-man American Commission (also known as the Supreme Court), there is no longer anything to prevent the delivery of the rough hydra-headed beast slouching toward Washington, waiting to be born. Voters can't prevent it, since both the present administration and its Democratic opposition support pan-American amalgamation, nor can state or local officials since the concept of a right to secession was settled by military force in 1865.

The patterns of history are clear. The political pendulum is swinging heavily toward increased centralization, and in American terms, that spells the end of the nation as a unique proposition dedicated to individual freedom, unalienable rights derived from God and limited government. The only question that remains is if the nation's weakening economic foundation will speed or slow this process, or if it will end the project altogether.

So, my fellow Americans, enjoy your national sovereignty while it lasts. I estimate you've got about 38 more years to do so.

Bush brown noser? I voted for Bush but that doesn't make me a brown noser. Illegal immigration is a huge problem in this country, but your high horse remarks aren't helping....they are dividing.

Thanks for the post, Marlboro Man. Vox rocks.

What will be interesting, and a litmus test of the much balleyhooed methodology for identifying 'Homeland Security' risks per (everyone's fav trample-the-constitution-tool) The Patriot Act [flame suit on], is whether Vox, ends up arrested as a threat to the Homeland.

I'm willing to bet that its only a matter of time before Vox, and those like him, are rounded up and carted off (sans due process).

If this monstrosity is forced on us, I believe a revolution is...

I really hate the 'r' word. I want so much to hold onto to hope that change can still be affected via peaceful means. ....Maybe I'm living in a bubble of idealism, but I will not give up writing letters to my elected officials, and taking my views to the voting booth. There's still time, I think [/hope].

I do the same thing, but here in California those letters to politicians often fall on deaf ears, thanks to the strong hispanic lobby and huge hispanic population here. Most of the politicians pander to illegal immigration. (REAL) conservative politicians are few and far between.

Is that diagram a joke? There are arrows going every which direction. How could anybody or any one of the groups be responsible or accountable for anything?

Just look at the first two levels. Summits of the Americas - Heads of States is apparently over both: Ministers of Foreign Affairs and OAS General Assembly. But then there are arrows from both of these organizations implying that Heads of States are accountable to them.

If you look at all the arrows you'll find that almost every box on the chart has either direct or indirect accountability to every other group. But almost every box also has direct or indirect authority over every other group. Everything goes in a huge mixed up circle with nobody in charge and everybody in charge.

It ought to work almost as well as the UN.

The water has been boiling for a while, and there is no place to jump to. Any talk of fighting back is just shoveling sand against the tide.

Even if patriots decide that ballots no longer work and bullets are now necessary, then what exactly would we be fighting for anyway? The vast majority of this country has been socialized into the Hollywood/gay marriage/multicultural/national healthcare nonsense, and they won't risk their getting their hands dirty fighting for anything anyway.

It is a done deal. The only thing left is our illusion that something can be done to stop it.

Kind of like the way we have succumbed to the ESA, EPA, etc.

>>the absence of a body count does not mean that the institution respects individual liberties or suffers any limits upon its power.<<

Hmmmmm, the Patriot Acts?

Sovereignty? Well it's gone, no use discussing it anymore.

>>Since the U.S. Constitution no longer exists as a definitive legal document,<<

We'll get around to changing the Presidential Oath of Office someday, maybe.

>>Voters can't prevent it, since both the present administration and its Democratic opposition support pan-American amalgamation, nor can state or local officials since the concept of a right to secession was settled by military force in 1865.<<

Wanna bet we can't change it?
DO NOT RE-ELECT ANYONE WHO IS IN OFFICE TODAY! Now is the time to start over with Ben and Mary from the local hardware store, Tommy, Fred, Herb and Bill the ex Marines up the street from you. The men whom you see in church each eek with their families. Yup, you and your neighbors. If we get rid of the current bunch of traitors and start over with men and women who understand the meaning of corruption, deceit, honesty and Jesus Christ, we stand a pretty good chance of saving our country!

If we keep the corrupt bunch we have now who are promoting Agenda 21 behind our backs then we can kiss ole Red, White and Blue goodbye because she'll never mean the same to us again.

>>I estimate you've got about 38 more years to do so.<<

The author is an optimist, that's for sure.

Footnote:
The UN has done a fantastic job and they need to be congratulated. At least half of our legislators think we cannot survive without them. The UN is the origin or everything mentioned in the article.
Are you going to lay back and allow them to continue or are you going to call your Rep and demand we get out and get the UN out?

spodefly,
Would you quit lieing to yourself and delete everything off of your profile page. You are no more of a Patriot than Jimmy Carter is.

You're map might need adjusting. If NAFTA plus is forced on the American people, then Mexico will integrate with the US, not Latin America
Exactly what I said...
"This isn't quite right as Mexico, under Fox's plan, would have to go to N. America instead of Latin America."

While the book "Term Limits" is only a novel, it could become rather prophetic.

Have you read "Transfer of Power" by Vince Flynn. It seems he knew a lot of what was going to happen before it did. Islamic terrorists strike at the White House.

I have never waived any rights. They get waived for me.

That's my point.

As the article is pointing out, what 'we the people' want with regard to the matter of immigration/illegal immigration is not what our "representatives" respond to. The same can be said of taxes, regulations on business, affirmative action, and numerous other issues.

The trajectory of the federal government is alway, inexorably, toward greater scope and scale and costs. Nothing has changed that in 200+ years. There have been brief moments, say during the Reagan years, when it seemed that the centralized and humongous federal leviathan might be tamed. Reagan said he wanted to abolish the Department of Education, etc.

He didn't. He did manage, however, to grant the amnesty for illegals that has set us up with the problem we have today.

In 1994, the freshmen congressmen and their 'Contract with America' seemed to be another chance to rollback the lard.

Did it work? I haven't noticed.

Our kids, according to recent surveys, seem to think the First Amendment goes too far. They have no clue at all about the Second, or any of the rest for that matter. Our politicians have become very adept at tailoring their message to appease those of us that might still believe that a centralized, socialist government is bad, but nothing at all ever gets done. And I suspect that there are more people that believe the government should be in the health care business that there are people that don't.

We can come here and vent, but what is to be done about it? I don't like looking around and seeing the Californication of America, but it is happening. The demographic shifts that are occurring seem cast on stone. The values-neutral, morally relative politically correct cultural Marxism gains adherents each day.

We get hopeful when we see Bush disavow the World Court, or not sign Kyoto. But does it really matter? He obviously has his lips firmly planted on Vincente Fox's ass, and will acquiesce to the one world schemes, even if they start out just being regional. He may have seemingly gone against the UN with regard to our foreign policy, but it turns out that it was really to bolster the UN, to enforce the UN resolutions, which, in the long run makes the UN stronger. Has there been any serious talk at all about kicking those bastards out of the country and turning the building into condos? Not that I have heard.

So, whenever I see people referring to the 'next civil war' or the 'second American Revolution', I have to wonder what it is we will be fighting for. I see no point in spending my life shoveling sand against the tide. The one world borderless UN dominated ideals are being driven by people that I have no control over, nor capacity to vote in or out. They can take it slow, and guys like you and me that might have been the ones to actually do the fighting get older and die off to be replaced with people socialized by the NEA and our public schools, and who embrace everything that has slowly crept up on us for the past 50 years while we have been venting against it.

I don't like being fatalistic, but that's where I am at. You caught me in a mood. Sorry.

Third parties have no chance because of the media bias.

MSM will certainly not support our cause but the real obstacle is the plethora of hurdles that have been erected by the Tweedledee and Tweedledum parties.

I've been saying this is the case for years, but not many people will believe it. In fact, they will still be disbelieving when the Union becomes a fact, and Vincente becomes our coPresident.

Hard to argue with your comments, especially since (in my darker moments) I often have the same thoughts.

"...our illusion that something can be done to stop it. Perhaps nothing can. On the other hand, at the very least, we may want to make sure there is plenty of painful payback for those responsible for selling us out and turning this country into exactly the kind of mess you describe "...socialized into the Hollywood/gay marriage/multicultural/national healthcare nonsense...".
