A normal legislative process is described as the equivalent of a coup d'etat against the Constitution. A law that simply grants Terri's parents legal standing to file a case in federal court is labeled the equivalent of a bill of attainder. It IS a coup d'etat against the "Constitution". But it is not against the Constitution written in 1787 and amended 27 times. It is a coup against the "living Constitution" embodied in the whims of courts bent on implimenting a leftist social agenda on America through court order. It is a small shot in a counter-coup that says to at least a state court that you WILL listen to the will of the people in the other two branches.
