It's not so much "the church" that's offering Christian support as it is real, honest to goodness Christians. So many people warming pews have never met the Lord.
It's so funny, I hear a lot of people saying now that their church is not being supportive. We have Christian radio here in D.C. and, aside from dear Dr. Dobson, it's not been brought up as far as I know. I even called once to suggest it be on a local Christian talk show and I was given a very impatient bum's rush.
It's Christians who care and are working, I think. The Lord is showing quite eloquently that not every one who says "Lord, Lord" even knows what it means.
You are right about that...the time has come as my dad likes to say, to "cut bait or fish"...you're going to have to walk the walk or the cost of being a Christian will become increasingly uncomfortable.
By their actions you will know them!
You are correct.. although even the term "christian" these days (even around here) has become diluted... I know a lot of 'christian' freepers (my lower case emphasis on both words), who clamour for terri's death.. even Greer claims to be a christian republican..
No, I mean support to me, or at least acknowledgement that this is outrageous, or anything. NO one has said anything at our church about this except a few of us who huddle together at 'fellowship time' and shake our heads and wonder what we can do about it.
Great post.
