I think the horns starting to come alive are the guilty consciences who have kept secret for many years the neglects and abuses and sins of ommission done, both in facilities and at home. People are lazy, and patients do not get the care they need.

I think families should bring their elderly and incapacitated into their own homes. As hard as it is, a family member loves, and will often give better care. Or they can learn how to in the process.

Turn the den or guestroom into a bedroom and take care of our own. They have many visiting nurses that can be prescribed by an md. It's better to not enter a facility unless the person has serious problems that cannot be managed in a home setting. Home is better than nursing home any day.
