I was wondering, is there much demand for the additional upper deck passenger space on the special freighter conversion? It would seem to me that certain high value cargoes could be accompanied by technicians on the same flight.

Well, I don't' know, the Government here basically stopped the production of Boeing's 747 Combos because of safety concerns.
I think, the 747 - 500 Advanced Freighter will be the plane that we will see out of this program ( maybe even some military applications ) and if Boeing sees any large interest in the passenger version, then, they will go ahead with the passenger version, but, this is all speculation.
