If they do, it will simply be another chapter in our quest to bring the courts back under control. To hold the courts ultimately accountable, judicial review should be abolished but as I said, that's a subject for another day. We did all we could do to save Terri's life. We have nothing to apologize for, when it comes to extend her the right every other American has: to have our courts hear her case. If that's unconstitutional - then the very idea of America itself has no meaning.

Well .. all this does show how little we have paid attention to what these people were doing all these years.

I'm sure it has come as a blow to some people that the Congress has the right to overrule the courts. The courts were never designed to be the sole keeper of the Constitution.

Besides, the founders realized that the courts would be appointed - therefore the true representatives of the people had to be able to have a remedy to stop a run away court.

This is what we have done today.

I'm very proud to see that my party was willing to put their political life on the line and do what was right. And for those 5 republicans who did not vote to save Terri - you have brought your demise upon yourself.
