Fatima, the "useless eater" rhetoric stems from the Third Reich, which also gave us another pertinent phrase:

vernichtung lebens unwertenlebens.

"fir-NISH-toong LAY-binz oon-VAIR-tin-lay-binz"

"annihilating life unworthy of life"

This was the Nazi T-4 program.
