It's a big hindu epic about the fight between good and evil...two branches of the Bharatas go after it, and it's the biggest epic in length of them all

It's an Indian epic which strings together a host of ancient stories of when God's Messiah visited mankind. They call him Krishna in this one. On this visit he said he came to help men be just, not perfect.

They have another version of it with a setting in Sri Lanka ~ that one is called the Ramayana.

There are also stories of an even earlier Messiah called Shiva.

Hinduism is exceedingly complex, of course, and can hardly be explained in a couple of sentences, but it's probably worth knowing that Moslems in Pakistan study the Mahabarata and the Ramayana because they are both great literature, they are the foundations of the national myths of all Indian people, AND, ta-da, they concern the Messiah!

Both are worth reading.
