Went over this earlier today, but it's not surprising that there are some Freepers supporting killing innocent people.

In earlier times they were much more blatant ~ nothing but white power websites for references and such.

To maintain an open site and maximize opportunities for debate and discussion you pay a price, and that's letting these guys in.

Do you have amazing skills at remote medical diagnosis, so that you can safely contradict what Bill Frist and numerous other physicians in the Senate and House, as well as numerous other medical experts are saying?

Or are you just hearing what you want to hear and repeating it, which we might describe as 'thinking emotionally?'

My guess is the latter.

Why make a permanent fatal decision without the benefit of modern technology, i.e. MRI and (more importantly) the PET scan. Why make a fatal decision without benefit of rehab. These things have been denied Terri. Do you really want to make medical decisions without using all the tools available? that is all that is being asked.

Somebody please cite a case where someone has been in a permanant vegatative state and come back after 15 years.

First it is not determined that she is a permanant vegetative state, second there was a girl who was hit by a driver in Kansas, IIRC, who was in a coma for 20 years and has recently awoken from it.

Her husband has dark motives.

Terri's brother implied on Hannity's radio show that Michael may have in fact caused Terri's brain damage in an attempt to murder her. The brother said that this possibility has never been properly investigated.

For all we know, this guy Michael may be a high-tech Scott Peterson.

The fact that a state judge found that Terri is in a permanent vegitative state doesn't mean she is in a permanent vegitative state. Human beings, including judges, are fallable. That's why we have federal habeas review with regard to death-penalty cases, and that's why we should have a similar federal review here. The stakes are high because life is important, anf the 14 Amendment protects life.

You would see that, Chris, if you were not so unbalanced and emotional on this issue. Maybe you should try to think about this issue, instead of merely expressing your feelings.

for this sumababiaytch Nadler

If Nadler ever collapses, Nadler looks like he would require using an old oil pipeline to keep enough calories flowing into that bloated body.

You could also argue that the precedent in this case could lead to the court pulling the plug on AIDs patients to cut costs, as with the elderly.

However, it would only come into effect when their is a dispute that winds up in court, not in all cases summarily.

In many cases, people choose their course without any contest from other family members. The courts would not get involved in those cases. It is only when a related party tries to overrule the spouse and takes it to court that the full range of judical review comes into play.

"On the one side you have Republicans arguing to simply save Terri Shiavo's life, while on the other side you have Democrats arguing that she should be killed slowly, mercilessly, and grotesquely by starvation and dehydration"

It isn't just the 'Rats wanting her dead. A larger number of Freepers than I would have ever expected want her dead, too. Of course, they use terms like "states rights", etc., but it comes down to one thing--if they win, Terri dies.
